Walking by Faith

Following God's Lead

Sometimes things aren’t what they seem. If you ever get the feeling that you should be doing something in particular but you’re not sure why, and you go ahead and do it anyway.  That’s an example of walking by faith. The key is choosing to do that thing even though you don’t know the reason why.

One day I was at the gas station getting gas, and I had the feeling that I should pay $10 towards the purchase of some lady’s gas bill. I knew nothing about her and she didn’t appear to need assistance. I just went with the feeling and told her to pump $10 more into her tank and I was headed in to pay for it. She looked confused so I repeated it. When I came out the store, I noticed that she looked so relieved and she was so grateful. I smiled at her, pumped my gas, and went on my way.

There are several examples of walking by faith. Believing that God will come through for you in your time of need even when the situation seems hopeless, is also one of them. Following God’s direction even if you can’t see the destination is an example of walking by faith. I encourage you to trust God, even if you don’t have all the information. Do whatever it is he is urging you to do, even if it goes against societal norms or even if it makes no sense to you. I challenge you to walk by faith.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
