The world tells us that what we have is not enough to make us happy and content. It encourages us to constantly strive for more, more, more. Real contentment isn’t so much about what we have, but instead who we have in our lives. When we find rest in God, we have something to be thankful for in every season of our lives. Being content doesn’t mean to stop desiring things or growing. It means we know God has given us all we need for today, and we trust that he will provide for tomorrow. Instead of focusing on what we don’t have, let’s be thankful for what we already have.
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5
