He Has Risen

When Jesus died on the cross that Friday it looked like the end, but it was the beginning of the new covenant God had made with his people. On Resurrection Sunday, the tomb where they laid his body was empty. Jesus paid the price for our sins on that cross and rose on the third day, like he said he would. He didn’t just rise for himself; he did this for all of us. Our sin was forgiven, our brokenness was healed, and hope was restored. We should take the time to thank Jesus for his sacrifice because he could’ve chosen to free himself from persecution and death, but he chose to sacrifice himself and save us all instead. He took the punishment that was meant for us. Honor his sacrifice by living the life Jesus showed us how to live. Loving one another and humbling ourselves as he did when he walked this earth.

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” Matthew 28:6
