I have learned that it is important to give God thanks for everything that he does for me. We can take things for granted like being able to use our five senses, walking, having food, getting places safely, being able to pay our bills, and so on. It is God who allows us to be able to do and experience these things every day. We need to make a daily habit of giving him thanks and praise for all that he does in our lives.
When I pray to him, he hears me and helps me with whatever I’m struggling with. When I’m giving God thanks, that leaves no room for negative thinking. If I’m feeling sad or depressed about something, praising God elevates my mood to a positive one. We have so many things to give thanks for.
“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalms 34:1,4)
